Work by Charlotte Feinstein
I am a creator. I don’t create to pass time, I am put on this earth to create. I see the world through a unique pair of eyes and I know that it sets me apart from everyone else. I don’t just see trees as trees; I see them as they become silhouettes against the distinctive shades in the sky. I don’t care what anyone thinks. I am what I am.
I am a photographer. I would kill to meet and learn from a professional. You will rarely find me without my camera in hand. It is an accessory to me as a notebook is to a writer. It is my best friend. I don’t just see objects as objects. I see composition and lighting. The thought of looking at photos sparks my creative side, because I crave to capture the moments in life. The beauty and the story draw me in so I cannot resist. I like to find the narrative in the photographs, so it is not just a pretty picture. I always look for a deeper meaning. I am what I am.
I am an artist. I do not care that others get excited about politics and business. I am proud to say that I get excited when I see charcoals, paints, and brushes. I can express myself through my creations with line and texture, balance and harmony and I love that about myself. It is the only place where I don’t have to follow any guidelines; it’s a place that I get to express freely. I know it sounds cheesy and cliché, but it’s the truth. Whether the image is produced by painting, drawing or photography, a picture needs no words to explain what it means. Language is not a barrier when the subject is visual. I wouldn’t give my creativity up for anything. I am what I am.
I am not embarrassed. The “norm” may be to go to a top college and become a lawyer or a doctor butthat is not who I am. I don’t want to learn from a textbook. I want to learn from inspiration. I want to be inspired by the environment surrounding me; the clothes, the colors, the buildings, and the people. If I am on a beach, I will be embedded into the serene environment with the sensational dimness of the night sky hitting the horizon line. I learn from feeling, I learn differently.I am going to achieve and succeed in my life and I am going to relish every second of it. I appreciate what I value, and how I choose to spend my life because I am what I am.
